LHC Services during COVID-19

Our office is physically closed and all in-person services, including Drop-In Clinics, will be suspended until at least May 31, 2020 to reduce health risks related to COVID-19.  The safety of our clients, staff, and students is our priority. We apologize for the impact of the closure and reduced services.
We are offering an alternative to in-person service.  We will respond to email and phone call inquiries.  We will provide guidance on process, legal information, summary legal advice or referrals to other agencies.  Due to our current limited resources, we may not be able to offer information or summary advice in certain areas of law. In those situations, we will try our best to provide referrals to more appropriate resources.  
 

FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  • Check if you meet LHC’s eligibility criteria
  • Email [email protected]  or call 204-258-3096 with:
    • your name, home address, telephone number, birth date;
    • if employed, your occupation, name of employer, work address and telephone number;
    • name of the opposing party (person on other side of the legal matter);
    • Area of law you want help with (e.g. family, estates, small claim, etc); and
    • DO NOT send confidential details of your legal issue by email.
  • Wait for a response, either by:
    • Email, which will contain information in response to your question; or
    • We will schedule a telephone call on a Wednesday afternoon between 1:00-4:30 pm at which time we will provide more specific information in response to your question
